In scrum backlog board, I always see fix version and sometimes see epic. Want to always see epic.

Cindy Franklin July 25, 2019

Haven't figured out what determines if the epic will show up to the right side of each issue when in the backlog view.   Fix version always shows while epic on only sometimes.  All issues for one epic by show in the backlog with both and all issues for another epic only show fix version.  This happens automagically when Card Layout/Backlog doesn't have any items listed.  Thanks!

I have looked for this soooo many times - finally posted the question and found the answer myself.  The epic had a template type of fix version on it - needed a 'real' one.  Ugh.

What do you mean "template type" of Fix Version?  If possible - can you provide a screen snap/snip?

:)

And ... I'm glad you found the answer!!

Tanya - sorry my answer made sense to me but not others.   We use various template tasks  - we use a label that has template in it the name or a fix version that has template in the name.  We can then clone the tasks and be sure the newly created entries have information that we require.   I don't know the exact reason it solved my problem to remove the "template" info but is has to do with the filtering set up on the project.  The record with the "template" info is kept out of certain processing since it is, after all, not a record we want to show up on sprint boards, kanban boards, etc.  Hope this helps somewhat anyway.
