In the latest version of Jira I am not able to create a board with sample data

In the latest version of Jira I am not able to create a board with sample data. When I change the view to old view and selected the "Create Board" > "Create with Sample Data". its not working. Is the functionality removed?

Hi All, I understand there are concerns about trying to create sample data via the board creation menu in Jira Cloud.   There are changes to the layout that might prevent this in some menus.  That said, I tested this in two different sites, using different layouts and I was still able to do this in both of them. 

That said, you might have to navigate to a very specific board creation menu.  The new left side navigation layout doesn't have this menu exposed in it direct.  I will try to guide you. 

First navigate the Search Bar at the top of the page, click it, and then at the bottom choose Boards.  

This will take you to a boards page that you might not be able to reach via the left side navigation in place on some site today. 

From this page, use that Create board menu

Or if you're on the old layout, you might also be able to go to any existing company managed board, and use the create option from that drop down.

In my own testing, both of these methods still work.  Though I have to admit that on one site, it took a couple minutes for the issues to appear in the backlog.

Try these methods to see if you can get it to work this way first.   It is still possible that your cloud site might be part of a new experiment to change the behavior in some way.  But try one of these means first to see if this works.

Hi @Ravi Sagar _Sparxsys_ , I just don't see any possibility to create a board with sample data. 

I also don't see where all of the boards live now, but that is another story.

Hi @meerm , thanks for your post.

I have replicated the problem. In the 'old' UI, you can only create a new project with sample data, not just the board. Let me escalate this post to Atlassian and see what they say.
