Including "Resolved" and "Reopened" statuses in total original estimation in Jira sprint

In our Jira sprint, we have added "Resolved" and "Reopened" statuses in addition to the default statuses of "To Do," "In Progress," and "Done." However, we have noticed that whenever a ticket is in the "Resolved" or "Reopened" status, it is included in the "In Progress" total original estimation on the top right bar.

Is there a way to include the original estimations of all statuses, including "Resolved" and "Reopened," in the total original estimation displayed in the sprint view? We would like to have a more accurate representation of the total effort remaining in the sprint.

Any suggestions, workarounds, or pointers to relevant plugins or configuration changes would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

Looks like, the problem is with wrong Status Category.

In Jira, status categories are used to classify and group statuses based on their intended purpose or usage. The status category helps provide additional context and understanding about the status of an issue within a Jira project. There are three default status categories in Jira: "To Do," "In Progress," and "Done." Here's a breakdown of each status category:

  1. To Do: Gray color of status. The "To Do" status category represents the initial state of an issue, indicating that it has been created but is yet to be started or worked on. Issues in the "To Do" category typically require action or attention from team members to begin progress. This category is commonly used for backlog items or tasks that are awaiting prioritization or assignment.
  2. In Progress: Blue color of status. The "In Progress" status category indicates that work has started on an issue and is currently being actively worked on. Issues in the "In Progress" category represent ongoing tasks or activities that are being addressed by team members. This category helps track the active work and provides visibility into the progress being made on the issue.
  3. Done: Green color of status. The "Done" status category represents the completion or resolution of an issue. Issues in the "Done" category indicate that the work has been finished, and the associated task or request is considered closed or resolved. This category is typically used to indicate that the necessary work has been completed and no further action is required.

As I see, you added Reopened status to category "In Progress". I suppose, you added Resolved to similar category. It's better to change categories for that statuses.

I think, Hold - will be good in To Do category, because it's not done, it's waiting to be taken in work.
