Inline images not being rendered at all when issue is created via email (Jira Software 7.11.2)

When an issue is created via email, inline images are not rendered, although the due attachments are created, bound to the due issue.

I already switched from Default Text Renderer to Wiki Renderer, which allowed our adding inline images to comments via the UI (a critical requirement for our opting for JIRA)

Inline images are being properly rendered when the issue is created via the UI. They are also working fine when included in comments made via the UI.

I've already revised the "Sniff..." setting and tried both "Insecure" and "Internet Explorer workaround...", nothing changed.

Hints???

Also, I just noticed the incoming email address is NOT being added as a watcher... sighs...

To be more precise, this came up, but not synchronously (i.e. not at the time the issue was presumably pulled and processed by JIRA) and it doesn't seem to be related to the issue anyway:

Hi @fvillalba_LL,

just found out, that this is a known behavior, this is the improvement to change that: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-45296

You can either use the workaround mentioned there (adding the images manually) or you can use add-ons  like "Jira Email This Issue" or "Jira Enterprise Mail Handler", with them it should work.

wow... a "Suggestion"..., this is clearly a bug... I guess I can forget about this being solved anytime soon... I'll talk to the rest of the team, this is most probably a show-stopper for us.

Hi @fvillalba_LL,

can you please check, if you have any errors in your log files (APPLICATION-HOME/log/atlassian-jira.log might be a good start), that may give a hint to this problem.
