Every post function I've seen makes it so that an auto comment/field update needs to be made and won't receive any input from the current user.
Ideally, the workflow would be like this:
1) A user hits a transition button, this transition creates and links a ticket (as relates)
2) This same transition then triggers another transition which would allow the user to edit the linked ticket.
I initially tried to get the first step of this to allow the user to input what they want as the description of the linked ticket but didn't find a way to do so.
Is there any way to allow the user to edit the description or even comment on a linked ticket during another linked ticket's transition?
Jose,
There is nothing like this using out of the box functionality.
One option might be to explore some of the scripting/automation add ons such as Scriptrunner, Automation for Jira, or Power Scripts. You could play around with placing the custom fields you want to edit on the transition screen and then copying the values from there into the newly created ticket?
Thanks,
Kian
Hello,
We have access to scriptrunner but im unable to find a definitive answer to that. Copying from the master ticket might have worked but the issue there is that the description/comment needs to be unique between both tickets which is why i need user input.
