Is it possible to add a "Create Issue" button on an issue? (not a Sub-task)

Is it possible to have a shortcut to create issues related to an issue from that issue screen. The "Linked Issue" field would be pre-populated with the existing issue link/key (like when you create issues under an Epic). We do not want that issue to be a sub-task, but rather another issue at the same level, just related to the initial issue.

You can customize the Jira UI with Script Runner. Check the user guide, you need Jira administrator permissions.
