Is it possible to create a condition for one issue based on the status of another issue?

Deleted user January 20, 2019

For example, I have an issue EM-2 that is linked to EM-1. I'd like for EM-1 to be completed first (status: done) before EM-2 can be transitioned to "in progress". Can this be done natively in Jira, or is an automation add-on necessary?

Hello,

Unfortunately, you need to use only built-in conditions. Jira Cloud does not support custom conditions or validators. ScriptRunner will not help as well.

I see. In that case, I will attempt to use the built-in conditions. Maybe workarounds will do the trick... Thank you for the insight, though.

The only build-in option - condition on subtask status.

Thanks, but this one isn't applicable, I'm afraid.

So, we use Script Runner for such cases. Can you use it?
