Hi everyone,
Recently we have migrated from JIRA server to JIRA DC and in our former Jira we had a couple of functionalities that were quite useful, but haven't been migrated.
1.The option to link comments to easily jump to that comment directly. Refer the first screenshot attached
2.You could change the order of comments so that recent comments were at the bottom (this was default); this is also possible right now, but it's after each logout and you have to set it manually for each ticket (quite inconvenient). Now by default recent comments are placed at the top, which can be annoying, as you can add new comments only at the very top or the very bottom of a page...
3.You could display an activity stream on your system dashboard; this is not working currently. refer the 2nd screenshot.
But where as in JIRA DC "Activity Gadget" is showing empty. Is it possible to get those visibilities in JIRA DC as well?
Regards,
Kanaka
let me answer a few of your questions:
1. The option to link comments to easily jump to that comment directly.
Please refer to this documentation article for more information:
Link to a comment missing after an upgrade
It seems to be related to changes in Jira 8.17 and later, including the link address in the comment timestamp.
2. You could change the order of comments so that recent comments were at the bottom
That is something you can adjust in the general configuration of Jira, please have a look at this article for instructions:
Change the default order for comments
3. You could display an activity stream on your system dashboard; this is not working currently. refer the 2nd screenshot.
Could you show us the current configuration of the macro, please?
Best, Max

Hey @Kanaka Ponnuru Prasad, I think you got me wrong. I was asking for the configuration of the dashboard gadget. :) There, you could have a look yourself if everything looks correct.

@Kanaka Ponnuru Prasad , did you try to click "Edit"? You're not showing the configuration of the gadget itself.

Hi @Max Foerster - K15t ,
Yes, I tried to Edit the "Activity Gadget" but when I clicked on Edit button I am not getting anything, this where I struck.
Anything else I need to do to get the information on Activity gadget as before?
Thank you!

You could simply remove and add the gadget again to see if that helps. You can also try other suggestions from the community and read through this topic:

Removed the gadget and added again but still no luck. The above link is also seems not useful.
Any other suggestions please because everyone is complaining about this issue.
Thank you!

Did you also check the log files and tried the workaround with a different browser that was mentioned in the KB article? So if you have exhausted all means and still cannot get it to work, please get in touch with the official Atlassian Support. Clicking the edit button should open the configuration:
If nothing like this loads, if there's nothing in the logs etc., I don't think we in the community can assist further without escalating this to the support. :)
