Is possible to define more custom fields to be copied while Splitting an issue?

Team,

I am trying to split the story based on different story points and assign it to different sprints. Whenever I try to run split I get thrown out an error with required custom field. Is there a way i can fix it. On doing some research i came across possibility with script runner listener. 

Could anyone help me with the script? 

Environment: Jira cloud
Custom field, Single line text field

Hi @kedar pan ,

You may want to consider using Epics if you are ending up with stories where they need to be split into multiple sprints. 

In Jira align,  there is a split feature.

However, in this use case, it s done because somehow the sprint didn't go as plan. 

In your case, if you are anticipating this, then I would suggest using Epics.

@Benjamin Hi Ben, our company does not have Jira align. After going through the community, I came across that script runner listener script being a probable solution. i am trying to make sure that if i can copy these custom fields value from parent story when the split happens. Right now i get "Error prompt while creating issue through workflow Workaround:Workaround Required." I would appreciate any help in this matter.
