Is there a gadget or widget for the dashboard that shows issues assigned to me in current sprint?

Some of my users want to only see the issues that are assigned to them in the current sprint (not all issues in backlog, canceled or closed)

You can setup a scrum board within your project with JQL query that includes the following:

Sprint in openSprints() AND assignee = currentUser()

That's probably the easiest way. Then just allow the board to be shared with your users.

I already have a board with a filter as mentioned, however what I am looking for is a dashboard object that can be shared with the team.

You would use the same query (via a Saved Filter) in the respective dashboard gadget. For example, you would edit/create a Jira Dashboard to use a "Filter Results" gadget, and then configure that gadget to use the Saved Filter containing the above query (and whatever other customization options you wanted). You could add this to the default dashboard easily enough.
