Is there a solution for work planning for teams and workers ?

Hello,

We are looking for a solution that would allow us to plan work on issues/projects for teams of workers (such as field support engineers). The requirements based on our use case are the following :

• Must be a solution for Jira Software DC
• Must allow a team leader or resource manager to plan work for members of the teams
• Must allow planification for others on an hourly basis from a calendar-type view
• Must allow to easily extend/reduce the planned period (across days or across several hours of the same day)
• Must allow easy re-planification of the time slots from one worker to other workers
• Must allow to plan recurring work on issues/projects
• Must allow to plan work on one issue/project for several different people
• Ideally, can be integrated with Outlook.

Do you have any idea of a solution that would cover our requirements?

you could to that with the Outlook calendar and meetings integration of Microsoft 365 for Jira (Outlook Email, Teams, Calendar) | Atlassian Marketplace (available for DC).

Here's a short overview of the features that might be relevant for you: Outlook Calendars for Jira - yasoon. Please note, I work for yasoon, the company developing Microsoft 365 for Jira, therefore I tend to recommend the app :)

• Outlook integration: This solution fully integrates with Outlook calendars, allowing you to sync your Jira schedules with your Outlook calendars.
• Planning on an hourly basis: The Outlook calendar view in Jira projects lets you schedule work for team members on an hourly level.
• Easily extend/reduce planned periods: You can quickly adjust planned periods across days or hours directly in the calendar view.
• Re-planification of time slots: It's easy to move work from one worker to another in Outlook or Jira, making it ideal for dynamic schedules.
• Recurring work: We don't have a recurring meeting feature per issue, but there are a few workarounds that could help your planning.
• Team-based planning: You can assign different team members to a single issue/project and allocate their time in Outlook accordingly.

@Clémentine Arce i would suggest looking at Tempo Timesheet and Tempo Planner.  The combination should meet all the requirements except the outlook integration.  I think that is only available in cloud.

We already use Tempo Timesheets and Tempo Planner, but in DC they show some limitations for some of the requirements explained above, not just the outlook integration. Thus, we need to explore other options.
