Hi! My company would like to start standardizing each Jira Board so that we all use the same columns and template. Is there a way to copy a board? That way we don't need to build an entirely new board every time we have a new client or project.
Please let me know! Thanks
Hello @Becky Chittick
Are you working with a Team Managed project or Company Managed project?
Are you creating new projects for each client?
Company Managed
We create a new project and board for each client

If you click in the Quick Search field (in the menu bar), then click on the Boards button at the bottom
... you will be taken to a list of all the boards you can see.
Find the board you would want to copy. Click the ... button next to it on the far right. This will give you a Copy option.
After copying the board you will have to change the filter associated with it.

Hello Becky,
If you are interested in automating the process of copying a board, consider using a scripting solution as found on the Atlassian Marketplace.
I am posting some routines you can use with Power Scripts such as the copyBoard() routine or updateBoard() routine.

Due to Confluence Cloud security features, you may need to open the documentation in incognito mode or by logging out of Confluence.
Please note that I am a product engineer for Power Scripts and that I work for Anova Apps (Appfire).

Hi, I'm not able to access the links in Incognito mode.
Please provide the specific link or a pdf or something where I can access the copy board solution.
This is a very important feature for my team. Your response will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Rohit

Hello Rohit,
Thank you for asking about the documentation links. We have recently migrated to a new documentation Space. I have updated the links above, so you should be able to access them now.
