Hi,
This is a request from my partner team and may sound a little infeasible but please pardon.
This is a sample issue detail page showing the Details section.
They now opt to add a large number of custom fields into the issue detail display. However, they discover that all the custom fields position one after another horizontally, which is visually unpleasant(only to them..).
So they are asking if there is way to position these custom fields into two columns, just like in the issue details above, so there will be a left column of custom fields as well as a right one, both holding roughly same number of fields, so the appearance will be more balanced..
Please pardon if I am not making sense here, would be much appreciated if any help or suggestion could be given here. Thanks in advance!
No, the custom-field panel in the issue view is a single-column view. You'd have to hack the code in Jira that lays out that panel to get it to display in two columns.
Hey Nic - is there any other option? I have about 30 custom fields that I want to use as a checklist throughout our SDLC and it's just a pain to have to keep scrolling and was looking for a way to change the layout to 2 columns - any other options you can suggest? Unfortunately, I'm not a hacker lol
Thanks,
Lillian

No, it's not changed, you have to hack the code in Jira that does the layout.

Hello,
As far as I understand you provided a screenshot with a view, which you want to have. it is actually a common Jira view.
Could you provide a screeshot with the view, which you want to change?
