Is there a way to see the history of the count of users licensed in Jira Cloud?

I want to see how many users we have licensed in Jira each day, week, or month. This will help us predict how many users we'll have in the next year and will help us with budgeting.

TIA!

Only from the invoice @Christel Gray That is limited by your cycle, whether it's monthly or annual.

Otherwise, you can use the Organization insight feature.

The audit log is an option if you want the exact number, but that's not something practical.

Hi @Christel Gray

As already covered by others, there is nothing built-in to do this.  A few additional options would be:

  1. Set up a webhook to push out the system audit log and parse that in another tool.  I suggest that may be a brittle solution as the log may be incomplete or vague about user changes.  We gave up on this approach (for that reason) a couple of years ago.
  2. Set up a global automation rule with a scheduled trigger, use a web request action to call the REST API to gather the users, parse the list to active ones, and manage the results as needed: email, call another web request to save results, etc.  The get users function is: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-users/#api-rest-api-3-users-get
  3. Build / use an external application to call the same REST API from #3 above, and parse the results as needed
  4. Investigate marketplace apps which enhance user management features

Kind regards,
Bill

@Christel Gray

I'm not aware of anything like this. You could take a regularly export of the licensed users for your records.

Thanks,

Kian
