Is there a way to wrap text a drop down field in Jira?

I had a team ask me if there is a way to wrap text the text in a drop down field so the entire text option is shown? Right now it just has the first two or three words with . . . at the end. I recommended that they make it shorter, but that doesn't seem to be an option for reporting reasons.

Unfortunately I don't believe that this is possible, and seems to just be a quirk of Jira's UI.

Perhaps instead of the field values being completely shortened, you could suggest that the wording could be rearranged so that each option can be identified by the first few words/characters, and then the additional information required can just fall behind the ellipses?

So instead of things like 

• This is the description of field option 1
• This is the description of field option 2
• This is the description of field option 3

They could be rearranged into something like

• Option 1 - full description of the field value
• Option 2 - full description of the field value
• Option 3 - full description of the field value

This way, you keep the full info for reporting, but can still identify the field value before it gets cut off.

A somewhat crude suggestion, but hopefully this helps!
