Is there any alternative API for "Get Transitions" API for Issues?

I want to change the status of a Jira Issue using API. I know we can get the ID of the status (to which we want the issue to move to) using this API and then use this API to change the status. But I want to know if there is any alternative API to Get Transitions API by which I can get to know the ID of statuses.

What do you mean by "alternative to"?  There's a REST API call for getting transitions, why would you not use it?

I want to use it but it's not working with the recent scope changes. You can have a look at a question which I asked yesterday.

You'll need to get the scope corrected in that call.  If there were an "alternative", you'd have the same problem with it.
