Hello.
I recently learned about the new feature within Issue Checklists where a checklist could automatically be assigned to an issue if it has a specific label.
As far as I can tell, the following criteria need to be followed for it to happen:
- The 'Apply checklist templates from issue labels' toggle needs to be turned on within Global Settings of Issue Checklists.
- Your label and your checklist template name must be identical.
- Your checklist template name should not contain spaces.
I have adhered to the following criteria, however when I add the label to my ticket, the checklist template does not seem to attach automatically. What am I doing wrong?
I noticed in another Jira question thread that maybe the template needs to be set as 'Default'? However I have not done this because I dont want this template to be attached to all issues by default, only the issues with my specific label. Maybe I am misunderstanding the use of 'Default'?
From what I read I don't think any Jira Automations needed to be setup for this to work, is that right?
Thank you for reaching out to us about this. From your confirmation on the ticket, this works now.
To use the Labels integration feature, you only need to enable the Global settings "Apply checklist templates from issue labels" and make sure your Label name is the same as the Template name, case-sensitive.
You do not need to have the Checklist text visible on the edit issue Screen for this feature to work.
However, you would need to add the "Checklist text" to the edit issue screen when adding the Checklist via automation.
You can reach out to us in case of further questions.
RESOLVED
I can confirm that toggling the 'Apply checklist templates from issue labels' Global setting to 'disabled' and then re-enabling fixed the issue.

Hello Kiranmai, thankyou for the suggestion.
Tried to enable both of these fields but unfortunately the checklist still did not add automatically.

Hey @kiranmai c , just wanted to check if you have the 'Checklist Text' field visible on your issues?
I read that this 'Checklist Text' field needs to be added to the 'Edit Issue' screen. However it is visible at all times for me and looks like a pretty ugly unformated duplicate of what is actually in the checklist

^ In relation to the above, you can add 'Checklist Text' to hidden fields and it still works.
