I created a custom field using the Select List (Single Choice) format. It showed up fine in my project. I was able to see it as an available field in my issues. However, I am not able to change it's position on the Issue screen.
I move the field where I want it using Issue Layout. The new Issue Layout saves. Although when I go back to the project and create a new Issue, the Issue Layout just for the Select List (Single Choice) fields I created don't move to their new position.
Can anyone tell me a reason for this?
Yes.
And, I'm relatively new to Jira so it could be that I'm missing some aspect of configuration. However, I haven't had any issues moving around any of the other custom fields I've created. It's just those Select List (Single Choice) fields that seem to be a problem.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi @Brian Longstreet we have just recently released our app IssueLayout for Jira where you can customise your Issue view.
Feel free to test it and give us feedback if it fits your needs.

Hi Brian,
In JIRA there are three areas where a screen can be applied to a configuration. These being view, edit, and create. These context do what it says on the tin. IE if you modify the edit context, then the edit screen will be modified. It sounds like you are changing the screen associated for viewing or editing, rather than the screen for create.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm specifically referring to the Issue Layout screen. The screen allows you to change the order in which your fields are displayed in an Issue.
My problem is that even though my modified layout gets saved, the Select List (Single Choice) fields are always at the bottom of my Issue screen. This seems like a problem with that field type.
Do you have any other suggestions?
