Issue in saved/starred filters

Rameez Wani April 22, 2020

Upto the last month, we were able to update the saved/starred filters but now we are not able to do so. JIRA tells us to create a new filter.

I have to remove all my previous filters and then save the new one.

Further the newly save d filter doesn't save it with the old name which although is already deleted.

Kindly fix asap

Hi Rameez - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Filters are owned by a particular user, no matter who stars. Starring a filter (or dashboard or other item) just allows you to find them quicker when searching because they are one of your favorites.

However, only the owner of the filter may change it. I suspect someone has changed the ownership of the filter. As a Jira Administrator, you can change the owner of a filter by going to Settings > System > Shared filters

Firstly the filters saved are Private accessed so there wont be owner issues which i even confirmed and while creating a filter i was easily able to update it at the same screen and save it there, but now i only have Save As option which creates a new filter. The save button is no longer available for me.

Well, that is very strange. You should open a support ticket with Atlassian here:

There is an existing request here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-74384

You should vote for that and follow it there.
