Issue with names from google sso

my users are logged in using google sso.  however the names do not show up properly.

for example, one of my user has name James Doe, and emailid james.doe@abcd.co, it shows name in his profile James.doe. It doesnot show James Doe Seperately. 
I initially thought it is an issue with google admin name format, but names are proper there, with first and last name.

Now how do I update the names in Jira ? I have admin access, but not getting any edit option to edit the names. Please help

We are having the same issue.  Someone has updated their email address and user name in G-Suite.  However, the email address has updated in Jira but the user name has not.  

I am an admin but I still cannot override the user name in Jira.
