Hi Community,
I have a company-managed project with several boards and there is one user (not Admin) that has an issue when using the "Epic Link" field.
The user is able to find the epic, select it but when she tries to create/ update the card, the field is not correctly populated (I am attaching below two screenshots as reference).
Does anybody know what could be happening?
Thanks in advance.
Hello @Juan Manuel Ramos Taboada
Can you match what is shown in the first image to an actual Epic? How about what is shown in the second image?
If you can match both to actual Epics, are they in fact two different Epics?
If you look at the history for the issue does it show the Epic Link field being changed from one value to another?
Hi Trudy,
Thanks for your comments.
Both images correspond to a "project" type issue, not to an epic. What I was trying to convey is that the user is able to find the epic in the Epic Link field, select it (image 1) but when she clicks the "edit" button it does not show such epic (image 2).
On the other hand, when I check the the history, the only text that shows up is that the user created the issue (it does not mention the Epic Link field being changed from one value to another).

Thank you for the clarification. I should've put "ninguno" into my translator. :-)
When I asked about matching what was in the images to an actual Epic, I meant matching the information displayed in the "Epic Link" field to an actual Epic.
Are there other non-admin user who are able to execute the same actions successfully?
Are you, as an admin, able to execute the actions successfully?
In the second image, is the user able to click directly in the Epic Link field and select and save an Epic in that field?
I notice in the first image that the dialog has an Edit and a Cancel button. In Jira Cloud there is no longer a separate Edit screen. Can you tell us how the user navigated to that dialog?
Is the Epic being selected in the same project as the issue (the HEN project) or a different project? If it is in a different project, does the user have permission to modify issues in that other project?
Can the user navigate to that Epic and create a new child issue in the Epic directly?
