Issues do not appear in the Issues listing and can't be searched

Scott Curry August 17, 2023

We have a project in which a number of issues have disappeared from the issues listing.  Can someone help us understand why these issues were dropped and how to recover them?

Do you happen to know the issue key or URL for one of these issues that are not showing up anymore? Most likely if you cannot search on them and the direct link is not returning anything is that the issue has been deleted, you would only be able to recover them if you happen to have a backup. You should check your permission scheme to see who have access to delete issues since it cannot be reversed without backup.

Another possible but less likely explanation is if Issue Security Schemes have been implemented that would hide issues from view for users who don't have permission to see them.

Only Administrators have permission to delete issues.  Is there a history log that might have a record of an issue being deleted (date of action, who did it, etc.)?

Unfortunately the Audit log does not note when an issue is deleted.

OK, thanks for your help.
