I am trying to create an approval flow for a specific workflow status. However, there is an error message saying “Already exists. Try another name”, when trying to select an “Approver field”.
Checks done:
- Tried to add/remove the field from the request type, and had the same outcome.
- Tested with another issue type workflow, and same outcome happened too.
- Tried to create a new Approver field, but they don't appear in the "Approver field" drop-down menu when selecting one for the approval flow.
Questions:
Does anyone know what can be happening that the system is preventing me from choosing that field?
How could I add more options to the approver fields drop-down menu?
Do you have an example of the workflow in question?
You add more fields to the dropdown by creating more "User Picker or Group Picker" fields to your system.
Those additional fields would then show up in your workflow
It is a simple one. Cannot share a screenshot. The idea is to set up and approval required when transitioning the status from "Pending approval" to "In progress".
The approval feature is available when clicking on the status and then selecting "Approvals" feature.
I've added those "Approval fields" as a "People" field type in the request type. However only one in showing in the drop-down menu when selecting the "Approval field" but showing the error message I shared. Where can I create teh "User Picker or Group Picker" you mentioned?
This is a team-managed project btw.

The fact that it is a team managed project is probably the issue. Approvals work differently in team managed projects and does not utilize custom approval fields

But I've used them in the same team-managed project for other request types. So, it doesn't look like a team-managed project restriction.
And there are some of them showing in the drop-down menu. The issue is that, I don't know what's the logic on adding/blocking them.
