JIRA - Different Password Policy for set of users

estipom February 2, 2018

Hi, i have this JIRA system running on version 6.4, all users are local accounts ( aka Embedded Crowd, correct me here if i'm wrong).

Just for example,There are 60 users in the system. I want to enforce 3 months renewal and a strong password for the set of users, let's say 30 users. Then for the other 30 users, i want password policy to be disabled.

How can i achieve this setup for local users? (aka e-crowd). No plans yet to integrate to AD or other authentication method. Thanks in advance.

The password policy is a global setting, you can only have one policy.

If however, you delegate the users into different directories, you have options.  You could

1) Use a directory that supports different policies by group.

2) Use several directories with different policies.
