How do I get the size of the custom and system fields in JIRA? Please advise.

Is it the same for Step, Data and Expected Result?

I'm afraid repeating the question does not explain it any better.

Mmm, possibly.  An option name can be up to 80 characters, but not all of that will display everywhere if the field width doesn't fit it (and that can vary because of browser sizing etc)

Could anyone illuminate me, please, how many chars (MAXIMUM NUMBER) can be typed in in XRAY Test Step fields:

That's something determined by the type of field - probably best to check the Xray docs and maybe ask them.
