How do I switch off the JIRA Mobile app from asking for "Time Spent" when I move a task to 'DONE'?
I enter a time spent value, but the JIRA mobile app does not accept the entry.. therefore I can not move the task to 'DONE' in JIRA Mobile app.
My whole JIRA team (20+ users) experience the same issue on their mobile devices.
I'm surprised, my searches have not seen this issue raised by others in the community
Hey Malcolm, I am the Lead of Jira Mobile and would love to understand a bit more the problem...
Does this problem happen in iOS and Android?

JIRA had been set up such that when transitioning an Issue to 'DONE', you were forced to enter a "Time Spent". Which is great because we want to ensure time is recorded for each Issue. However, in the JIRA Mobile app JIRA would ask for a time spent. After entering a time spent and then attempting to transition to DONE, the app would throw up a message asking again.. "Enter Time Spent". Only option then is to cancel and return to the Issue page.
I removed the Transition link in the Workflow and replaced it.. and some how this has allowed the Transition to DONE without the need to enter time spent.
Moving forward, I would like to resolve this so that an Issue will not Transition to DONE unless a time has been entered, but not until this bug in the JIRA Mobile app has been fixed.

"Enter Time Spent" is a custom field? Is it a number field?

I don't know. I guess it was set-up by our JIRA system admin. who has since left the company.
This "Enter Time Spent" only comes up on the JIRA Mobile app on the Transition to DONE page

Malcolm, to be able to create a request we would need to know which type of field it is ... In Jira you can create different type of Custom fields so unless I know the type I cannot help you more.

Ok, so it's possible to set up a custom field (Issue Status) called 'DONE' that forces you to enter something before transitioning?

Your admin must have configured a Resolution screen in your project where they made the field required. I need to know which type of custom field it is . If you are an admin you can go to the Custom Fields page.
If you don't know how to get there... land in Jira... press in your keyboard "gg" and that would open the shortcuts menu. Write down "Custom Fields" and if you have access to the page you are going to be able to click through. And there find your field and will tell you the type :)
