JIRA Upgrades - timelines

Hello:

We are working through a project to keep our JIRA Server upgrades in-line with when JIRA Cloud cloud versions are updated but I can't seem to find documentation that shows the schedule.  For example, JIRA Server 8.3 was just released but when will JIRA Cloud be upgraded to that version?

Thank you,
Scott

Never.  Jira Cloud is not the same product as Jira Server/DC.  It has a totally different and unrelated release cycle with different numbering as well.

The only time you need to worry about any equivalency is when you are trying to move data from one to the other.  At that point, you need to use Jira Server "latest possible available" and "Cloud, now"

WIth that, certain JIRA Cloud functionality will always be ahead of Server, but the releases happen more frequently vs a full-blown release?

No, they are separate products.  They've diverged from an identical base, and retain the same basic principles, so it is possible to relatively easily re-use code from one in the other.

Cloud is not always "ahead" of Server - Server has "priority schemes" that have still not made it into Cloud for example!

Cloud does release a lot more frequently than Server though.
