I have written an Automation with JMWE that creates a new issue in a new project and copies all the relevant fields (Ignoring all fields that do not exist in the new project). The Automation was working fine until the 1st team's project started using Fix Versions one day back in November. I didnt catch the automation error because the new team had not yet started using JIRA (we are transitioning from another software). We found out the 2nd team did not need any fix versions, and did not use them.
So I need to figure out a way to ignore the Fix Version field without using the "Only Copy set fields listed below" and adding every single field they need to copy (which is a lot).
if the other team is not using the Fix Version field, they should not have it on their screens.
There is a workaround to avoid copying the Fix Version field, but then it won't copy it regardless of the target project. You just add the Fix Version field under "Set specific fields of new issue(s)", select the "Set field value" option and leave the value empty.
I'll try removing Fix Version from their screen. They are both using Software Project, so it came OOTB on the default screen. That might fix the problem, because in JMWE I am ignoring fields that do not pertain to the new project.
