Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to find Epics that have not been updated in a while, (7d).
issuetype = Epic AND status in ("In Progress") AND updated <-7d
However, this only displays issues where the Epic (ie, the parent ticket) has not been updated, regardless of whether or not the issues within (children) have been updated within the time frame.
How do I include (Epic ticket + their children) into this query?
As far as I know, this is not possible out of the box.
If you have ScriptRunner installed, you should be able to something with the issuesInEpic() JQL function like this:
(issueFunction in issuesInEpics("status in ('In Progress') and updated < -7d") and updated < -7d) or (issuetype = Epic and status in ("In Progress") and updated < -7d)
This is probably not the exact query you need, but definitely a starting place.
Thanks Alex! This is indeed a good starting point.
Something I'll have to work around:
If an Epic has had an issue recently resolved, this query may assume the Epic has not been updated, as it's only looking for In Progress issues that have not been updated.
