Jira Asset roles not working

In jira assets i am trying to give some users permissions via roles. They are currently in a group under object schema developers but they still can't edit schema or objects within.. I am not sure whats preventing this

I think you'll be much more likely to get a helpful answer if you provide more details about what you have done (how things are currently configured), ideally with a screenshot.
