Jira - Automation close issue automatically

Hi all,

I'm trying to use jira automation to close an issue based on the criteria.  Criteria works fine but the issue remains open.

Tried the following:

Edit issue 

> Status of issue > set to closed - doesn't work or

> Issue Status > set to closed - doesn't work 

I do see the rule running successfully in the history but the issue remains still open.

How do you set the status to closed?

please try to use Transition issue action instead of edit.

Can you try using the Transition issue option instead of Edit issue .
