Hi,
I understand the email handler can be set up to create Jira issues in reading this article - Solved: Creating jira tickets via email (atlassian.com) or this Atlassian documentation.
However, it seems like the fields available to populate are limited (maybe only Summary, Description, and Reporter). Is there a way to customize the handler to populate any field available in our Jira instance?
For example:
If users are using an email template and the email comes in with "Components: ABC", "Priority: High", "Business Unit(s): Load", could we customize the email handler to populate the Components, Priority, and Business Unit(s) Jira fields with "ABC", "High", and "Load", respectively?
Thank you.
no, you can't do that with Email Handlers.
Have you had a look at Issue Collectors? Use the issue collector | Atlassian Support
They are customizable and probably have a better UX than Email-Templates. You can integrate them on any website.

Hello,
I tried this and I was excited to create the issue collector. Then, I couldn't figure out how to add the HTML to my Confluence page.
I started researching and found that it can't be done using the native Jira/Confluence cloud features. our company would have to purchase an add-on. The article I read only dated back to early/mid-2023.
Is this still true?

@Apryl Harris it looks like it.
There are a couple of free options: Confluence apps | Atlassian Marketplace
This specifically looks promising: Source Editor PRO for Confluence | Storage XHTML ADF | FREE | Atlassian Marketplace
