I am trying to import using the Jira Cloud for Sheets add-on all of the "done" stories in my Next Gen project. I am trying to import both the Epic Link and Epic Name with this sync so that I can use Tableau to visualize the breakdown of "done" stories by Epic. The Epic Link is not descriptive, which is why we want the Epic Name to also be imported.

Every time I try to import these issues, the Epic Name column returns back blank. Is there a way to fix this so we can see which Epic Name is associated with each done story?

Hello @Rebecca Kuzma

Welcome to the Community.

The Epic Name field applies only to Epic issue types. There is no Epic Name field in Story issue.

Also, when importing Stories into a Team Managed (a.k.a. next gen) project, the link between the Story and the parent Epic is contained in the Parent field rather than the Epic Link field.

@Trudy Claspill I don't think it is correct, Jira Cloud for Sheets provides the compound field Epic Link to track the epic associated to the given user story (if your query is looking for stories it should populate this information). This field provides the following attributes: Epic.Link, Epic.Color, Epic.ID, Epic.Status and Epic.Link.Name, this field gets what @Rebecca Kuzma wants. Epic.Link will provide Epic Key associated to the story and Epic.Link.Name the corresponding name of the epic key.

The only issue is that as of today (4/13/2022) I realized is not working something is broken, but it was working before

@David Leal @Trudy Claspill @Rebecca Kuzma I'm trying to get this as well.  If you add the "Parent" field, it will give a hyperlink to the epic.  I'm still looking for the epic description/name.
