Jira Core upgrade on apache tomcat

Sumitra Vishwanath October 9, 2018

Hi Team,

We have the Jira core installed on apache tomcat separately. I don't think we are using the tomcat bundled with jira download archive. Could you please let us know on how to upgrade jira core on apache tomcat and configure it?

Hello,

Atlassian does not provide war distributions anymore. You can find more info in this thread:

You would need to use the bundled tomcat.

So the new download package provided by atlassian doesn't require java or tomcat upgrade after jira 7.x?

Yes, it does not require it. There is already built-in Java and Tomcat.

so only the v6.4 version require the apache upgrade and java upgrade separately? We are currently on v5.2.7

There were several distributions with 6.4. There was a war distribution and also a distribution with in-built Java and Tomcat, that is why you can download 6.4 distribution with in-built Java and Tomcat.
