When creating an issue in Jira, I used the Jira date picker to assign a "due date". The format that was inserted by the date picker was "6/Apr/18" but when I submit I am given an error "You did not enter a valid date. Please enter the date in the format "dd/MM/yyyy", eg. "04/04/2018" .
Albeit a small annoyance, still you gotta make up your mind Jira :) . Fix it please.
You need to update the date picker as outlined at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/changing-the-due-date-input-format-192536.html
Thank you, it resolved the issue for the Portfolio for JIRA date picker.

Finally I was able to solve this problem. it was this setting and then I set the date in my excel sheet as yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss which is the default setting for date picker. it worked.
Was struggling with this for few days.
