We're randomly getting "Unrecognized permission" error message" on the app
Been like this for three days now.

Do you maybe a have a little information like screenshots so we can see what the errors look like? I haven't seen any widespread issues like these so I'm wondering if it is instance related/configuration related.
If you are not on a free plan, you can always open a support call at https://support.atlassian.com/contact and have the Atlassian engineers take a look at your instance and logs.

It looks like it's a billing issue.
Our subscription ended 21 July.
The first time we encountered this, was mid-July.
We are on a free plan (less than 10 users) and when we wanted to renew, the amount was $0 because we are 10.
It worked fine since 21 July up until now.
I did receive a response from them saying our service has been suspended, so it looks like that is the cause. Taking it up with them now. Thanx
