Jira Indexing , where does it store files when it is re-indexing in the background

Kaushal Patel July 2, 2018

We recently move to a new server and we have store jira home and opt to a another disk on the server rather than root.

We was wondering when we do re-indexing in the background on jira where does it store any temp files ? or does it store everything in home/jira/indexes

It might sometimes put things into the Tomcat working directory or temporary directories, but that is not something you need to worry about, as they're transient and not needed if Jira is stopped.

A background re-index is just updating the index, it's not creating copies anywhere.
