Jira Insight and Groovy Script

Hi

I need to write a Groovy Script to create JIRA Ticket (A task) from JIRA Insight and I have never used this before so an absolute newbie.

Is there any resources for this and if someone has written something similar it would be of great help.

Yes I want to generate ticket based on expiry date. I have done this previously using Insight Automation rule. However, in this case the automation rule is not working as we have scriptrunner enforcing certain fields to be mandatory when creating a new ticket.
So my options are two -

a) Turn off the scriptrunner which I cant.

b) Use groovy script to acheive the above.
