Jira Misc workflow extensions - Assign Issue to Project Role on Create not working

Hello,

We are using Jira 7.2.6 (server) and Jira Misc Workflow Extensions 4.0.6 (all modules enabled).

On creation of the issue would like to assign the issue to the (single) member of the Approvers project role. 

At the Create step, have put the JMWE post function “Assign to role member” and specified the Approvers role but the issue is being created as "Unassigned".

Tried putting the post function both before and after “Creates issue originally”. However the issue is still being created as “Unassigned” in both cases.

Can anyone help?

we found a workaround, so no longer an issue
