Jira Project Lead improperly assigned

Hello,

I have one Jira project where the Project Lead that is assigned as Default Assignee (in Project Settings) sometimes doesn't get assigned tickets. They will get assigned to a previous Project Lead instead. I have tried to update to a different person and reassign it back without any results. Anyone else see this problem?

Are you using Components in the project? If so, what do you have specified for the Default Assignee on the Components?

Yes! That is it. Thank you so much.

Hi @Dawn Rodney - I recommend you look for:

  1. Any automations (under project settings) that may be assigning issues to the previous project lead.
  2. Any post functions that may have been set up on the workflow

Thanks for the recommendations, but I checked those too. There are no automations set up. Can you give me an example of what you mean by "post functions"? I checked the workflows and it's very simple and no where does it change the assignee.

Another tidbit I learned was that this user that keeps getting them assigned to him used to be the Default Assignee.
