Jira and Uploading Images

Tim Maler January 17, 2019

For whatever reason jira never shows the images we upload. It only shows the screen shot name. Extremely frustrating. Bitbucket works perfect but lira no so much. Is there a setting that i do not know about.

Any help is greatly appreciated.Screen Shot 2019-01-17 at 4.08.48 PM.png

Hi @Tim Maler

Do the attachments appear in the issue and just not in comments they are added to?

If the former can you check that JIRA has the appropriate permission to read attachments from your home directory?

/var/atlassian/application-data/jira/data folder

Make sure the person who started JIRA or who is running JIRA has the read permission on this folder.

In both places it just shows the image name. Its odd meaning when you first upload the image it shows but after you click save its just the name.

hmm i just switched to the old view and i see an attachment box with images so maybe its an issue with the new UI view.

Please check the directory permission that is indeed very odd.

Can you right click the attachment in browser and inspect the element. Switch to network tab and check the response when you refresh the page?

This could help hint what is going on, also check your log for errors.
