Jira creates only even number key issues

pawel.adamek November 3, 2022

Since yesterday 02.11.2022 I experience Jira creates only even number issue keys. Is it global issue?

Hi @pawel.adamek

This is definitely NOT a global issue. When you create the issue check if another issue is being created simultaneously:

  • Look inside the same issue
  • Use the URL address bar and increment by 1 (e.g. if your issue is XX-123, then type XX-124) and see if any issue appears

After incrementing issue number in URL I see only that I have no access to this issue, which can be also seen when I request an issue which had not been created.

Are you a jira admin?

Is there an active issue security scheme?

Is there any automation rule that gets triggered?

In addition check the workflow of the issue you create. Maybe in the create transition there is a PF which creates/duplicate the same issue.

My admin checked our Jira, nothing observed but situation now is fine, creates now correctly +1 every issue.

@pawel.adamek and indeed there were no issues created after you had created an issue? This is really strange. If that is the case, difficult to believe though, then I would definitely contact Atlassian's support.

It seems that it still takes places, but not always, under unknown circumstances. After I will isolate that, I'll contact the support.
