On previous Jira versions, when my team dragged a card to another column, they keep its order in the new column, so, If I make 3 cards (CARD-101, CARD-102 and CARD-103), and my team develop them, they drag each card to the "Done" column and the cards keep the same order.
In my Next Gen board, when someone develops a task he has to drag the card on the top of the next column, so the last card turns into the first one, and the order is reversed (CARD-103, CARD-102 and CARD-101)
Is there a way to avoid this and keep the initial order of the cards?
Hi Benjamin,
Different from the Company Managed projects, in the next-gen projects the cards are sorted manually on the board.
So, basically in next gen the sorting is done manually within the column. So there is not configuration as there is with the company-managed projects, I.e. ranking. When you drag and drop an issue the order is based on where you drop not where it was in the original column.
In case it is essential to have it sorting automatically, I would recommend using the company managed projects instead of the next-gen.
Please let me know if it helps.
Cheers,
Carlos
Thank you for your answer.
I prefer next-gen for many reasons, I think this is the only problem bothering me now, because the most of our tasks are sequential.
