I'd love to be able to configure my dashboard pie graph gadget to display the breakdown of epics by team to which they are assigned. Unfortunately it seems the pie chart gadget does not have the Team attribute available in the statistic type configuration option for the pie chart gadget. It has every other attribute available in there but not Team. I have a workaround by using the manager of the team and assigning them to the epic, but this means the individual managers name is listed on the pie graph rather than the name of the team.
Hello @Terry
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
There is a change request for that to which you can add your vote:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-26205
There are also third party apps that would enable you to get a pie chart grouped by Team, if you are willing to consider such.
Hi @Terry,
The Jira gadgets do not support the Team field.
But an easy way to achieve what you want is by using the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app, which lets you select the Team field.
With this gadget you can generate multi-dimensional statistics by Team and/or Epics and display them in form of table, heat-map table or charts of various types (pie, bar, etc).
This app has a 1-month of free trial. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact support@stonikbyte.com.
Hope this helps.

Welcome to the community, @Terry
I am Marlene, product manager of Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.
With our Jira cloud app you can create Pie Charts using the Team field (see the screenshot below).
Is that what you were looking for?
Apart from that our provides other nifty features like summing up Jira number fields and filter Jira dashboards dynamically using a Quick Controller gadget.
You can test our app without installation on our demo dashboards.

Hi Marlene - this still does not work. I have my teams set up but 'TEAM' is not available as a Statistic Type in the Pie Chart app. If in your example QA, Dev, Marketing, are Teams please let me know how you selected that is the Stat Type since this option is not available to me. Thanks

Marlene's answer is applicable only if you are using the third party app they mentioned. Are you using that app?

No, I am trying to do this in Atlassian since I cannot install or run any third party apps.

If you are not using the app Marlene mentioned then their answer does not apply to your scenario.
My original answer from March 18, 2024 does apply to you. There is no native method to do what you want, but there is a change request to add such functionality.
