Jira server is going to down while the database is set up

Mustafa Demir November 9, 2018

Hi, I just migrated my Jira instance from Azure VM to Amazon EC2 instance, I followed this link and I migrated my Jira instance successfully then I've installed PostgreSQL to my Ubuntu machine after that I've chosen " I'll set it up myself" then on database connection step I've chosen "My Own Database (recommended for production environments)" after that I filled from with my database credentials then Jira stuck there.  Even worse I'm not able to connect my EC2 instance with putty nor WinSCP. to connect my server again I have to reboot it. After the reboot, I'm starting Jira and the database Jira stuck "Atlassian JIRA is now ready." after that Server is going down. Does anybody know what is wrong with that?

Hi Mustafa

You said "after that I filled from with my database credentials then Jira stuck there."

how long did jira "stuck" there, this process can take some time. Always keep an eye on process metrics and the application-log to be sure Jira is working in the background. :)

What does the application-log say? You should check it out.

Cheers
Niklas

I can't see logs because after I clicked next button on database step I'm losing my connection after a few seconds

This is strange, maybe contact your server provider for more insight.

And you can access the logs afterwards, they do not get delete by Jira. They are in your Jira home directory https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/logging-and-profiling-938847671.html#Loggingandprofiling-Logfilelocation
