Hi all,
We had a jira user who assigns issues to various jira users. This user has jira-users and jira-developer permissions along with permission to assign issues.
He had been using it till yesterday but all of a sudden whether individually or in bulk when he tries to assign the dropdown just seems to load and fails.
At the same time another user who has the same permissions is able to assign which is confusing..
At the same time the user who encountered this issue when given Jira-administrator previlege was able to assign and the drop down seem to load properly. When the permission was revoked it again started not loading..
I know all these seems a bit confusing and inconclusive, but what could be the reason Jira behaves thus!
Hi @Sijo kurien - Perhaps you're using a shared permissions scheme that had been recently updated. You want to take a look specifically at the permission Assign Issues to ensure the appropriate groups/individuals have access.
Assign user permission is there for the usergroup in which the corresponding user is part of.. Still it is just not loading for the user. I know this is tricky, but is there anything else that we can check.
If we add the user to jira-administrator it works too

This is definitely an odd one. If you've verified the Assign Issue permission and that they're in the group, I'm not sure what else it could be. The fact that you can assign as admin and it starts working rules out licensing as well. I'll need to defer to other community members on this one.

It is found that this issue happens when any user is part of a part of a user group. This user group has assign issues permission and has accesss to all projects.
But still this user group seems to be the problem. When this user is added to this usergroup only "Assign to me" is coming,
