Jira with Load Balancer in 2 Server

We are planning to have JIRA Software installed on 2 Application Servers with Load Balancer and single Oracle DB. Is there a set of configuration that can be done to implement the set up without using JIRA Data Center? Any recommendations?

It's not going to work, unless you are setting it up as a warm standby, and the load balancer is just there to select between production and standby.

I would, but Atlassian have removed the documentation, replacing it with "how to do it with Data Centre" instead.

The basic principles to start you off though:

• Replicate the database in a master(rw)/slave(read only) config to standby server
• Synchronise the attachments from production to standby server (do NOT sync everything - plain Jira does not work with replicating file systems)
• Make sure standby server has the exact same installation of Jira that production does, but configured to point at the standby database
• Keep the standby Jira off until there's a need to fail over

When you fail over

• Break replication and synchronisation
• Swap standby slave database into master/read-write mode
• Start Jira
• Tell your network to direct traffic to the standby instead of production
