Hello all,
I am using free version of jira for context.
I have configured a kanban board and use epics for client, stories for workstream and subtasks for open items. I have added a few additional stories per client, i have configured the backlog and moved them into board but they are still stuck in 'everything else'!! I have also tested and added new stories to epics and they all go into 'everything else' despite me moving them in order of preference in the board..
The two stories are inputted them same as all others and linked correctly/
Any ideas?!
Sorry the pic if rubbish - had to remove any client info!
MLV351 and MLV353 are both stories that should be in its own line above everything else
Craig, thanks so much!!!!
I stupidly linked issues instead of created them as child. That has worked :D

No worries this happens.
Look at it this way -> it's not a swim 'lane' if there is no requirement for it to be one, all work is contained on the ticket itself.

Hello @MLV
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Notice that you have the Group By option in the upper right corner set to Subtasks.
When you do that you will get a horizontal lane for each issue that has subtasks, and the subtasks will show as cards in those lanes.
For all issues that do not have subtasks, those issues will show as cards in the horizontal lane at the bottom titled "Everything Else".
