Link 2 columns on different boards

Hi,

I have 2 boards under 1 project

Board 1 is set up like this 

Backlog -> Review -> Queried - > Ready to start

Board 2 is set up like this

Ready to start -> Copy -> Design -> Dev -> Blocked -> Done

I want to link the "ready to start" on the 2 boards so a ticket starts on board 1 and completes it journey on board 2. 

How do I do this? I am a beginner at Jira so need a bit of help

welcome to the Atlassian community!

If two boards are Kanaban Board you should be able to put in place your desiderata just configuring two boards with columns mapping as specified in your description.

In my mind, all issues in your project use the same workflow with statuses Backlog ,Review ,Queried, Ready to start,Copy,Design,Dev,Blocked,Done.

If so, create two boards.

Board 1 

• Define the following columns Backlog ,Review ,Queried, Ready to start and maps each column with related status

Board 2

• Define the following columns Ready to start,Copy,Design,Dev,Blocked,Done and maps each column with related status

it should be very simple.

Technically linking two boards is not possible.

Board is a view for your workflow status, so if the issue uses the same workflow then why not try putting all the columns in same board ?
