One of our columns disappeared from our board the other week and hasn't returned. When we try to create a new column called the same thing we get an alert to say this column name already exists so we assume it's still around somewhere. Can you help us get it back please? Thank you!
What does your board configuration say in the "columns" section?
Do you mean the name of the column? It's supposed to say BMW 1.0 IN PROGRESS

No, sorry, I mean the whole of your column setup - what have you got on that screen?

Hi Nic - sorry i'm new to Jira so i'm unclear on what you mean. I just created a Board that looks like a Trello board with what should be 9 columns but currently 8.

Ok, Jira can have many types of board. One of them has no configuration, so I doubt it one of those, as you can't add columns. But we might need to know what type of board you have created - Kanban, Scrum or Agility.
All of those have a "configuration" area, and within that, there should be a "columns" setting. We'd like to see what you currently have for that.

Ahh, I see.
I think you've run into a bug here - either the column vanishes when it has no content (bad because you need to be able to drag into it, and worth a quick test - do you have at least one issue that should be in it?), or it has gone and cannot be recreated which is clearly a bug.
Either way, it needs to go to https://support.atlassian.com/contact as a bug report.
